Either method, or even a third method may be correct. If I was about to buy or sell across the border I'd have the correct info at hand and not just say "It's OK" or "Don't Worry, Be Happy". LOL

Summertime. It looks nice and the price seem very fair.

It is not that heavy either. Only a shade more than our 23' Airstream.

Correction, I got the information here: Importing Travel Trailer to United States | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

"If older than 25 years, US DOT sticker is not (supposed to be) required as it is considered an antique. If there is a month of manufacture, Customs will be calculating based on the month or day. 'Almost 25 years old' will not get your new trailer into the US"

Not a primary source, I realize. Best to check with customs directly.

As has been suggested it is illegal for a Canadian registered/owned trailer to be sold in the USA REGARDLESS of its age.

And yes there are two different procedures/requirements for importing a Canadian trailer into the USA that are based on age. Either way it has to be properly imported in order to register it in the USA & you will need documents that only the US Border folks can issue showing that it was processed correctly as an imported vehicle.

Should you purchase a Canadian owned/registered trailer in the USA you will NEVER get it registered or plated in your name in the USA.

The above does not apply to trailers!!! it is required for vehicles with engines only.

As with anything involving the border and what is legal and what is not one NEEDS to do their homework.

I am a bit confused. The third picture in my post shows the kitchen, and the lighting implies that there is a door there. So I conclude that the picture is toward the rear of the trailer. But, what I see is a bedroom at the end of that picture. I thought it was a front bedroom?

I thought all the years made were rear bed. Were there some with a front bed too?

The one my friends have is a front bedroom - no owner modification - its the only only Silver Cloud I have ever seen in person though.

What you see is the entrance to a small living room area right at the rear of the trailer - at least in the case of the other I have seen that is the case.

So they did have options then. The one I saw was newer than this one, and had a big front dinette, and a rear bed. That was a bunch of years back, even before I had my Escape 19 that I saw it though.

Also question why it needs to be listed on craigslist for Detroit and Ann Arbour?

Perhaps the seller would for the peace of mind of any potential buyers address the above questions.

This is what I think of when I think Silver Cloud:
1987-28ft Bigfoot- -silver cloud-

A bit more posh then the trailer advertised.

Or this one:
1987 28' Bigfoot Silvercloud Travel Trailer | Claresholm, AB, Canada | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

This one almost made me cry:
1987 Bigfoot Silver Cloud 28' Fiberglass Trailer Project | La Verkin, UT | Fiberglass RV's For Sale

I believe all of these are front bedroom models.

This is not a discussion thread, it is a For Sale ad. I would advise everyone to read the Marketplace Posting Rules.

Quote:
Posting a reply to a "For Sale" ad
  • Limit your responses to requests for clarification of details pertaining only to the item the seller is listing.
  • Be genuinely interested in purchasing the item. If you are not interested in purchasing, don’t post. Off topic posts will be removed
  • There are to be NO price negotiations, or discussing of cost or payment in the public thread. Please use PM (Private Messaging) or email for this.
  • Again, DO NOT include contact information in the thread, neither phone number nor email address.
Any further posts violating these rules will be deleted. The onus is on any potential purchaser to validate any product they are interested in, and not on the general membership.
