2009 Scamp 16' - $13,750

After traveling across the country with our beloved Scamp, we've finally settled in one place and bought a stationary home that's requiring all of our time and energy these days. If we had a place to keep the Scamp, we would, but alas we live in downtown Atlanta without a place to keep it. Rather than have it sit in storage for the next several years, we've decided to sell it and let someone else get the same joy out of it that we did.

Our Scamp is a 2009 16' standard model. It's had at least two previous owners before us, with some light use between them, and was in pretty good shape when we bought it two years ago. We made some upgrades-- new flooring, paint, new cushion covers (we still have the original green cover,s too), added a 12-volt outlet, new battery, new tires, replaced all lights with LEDs, etc.-- and then spent the last year traveling around North America with it.

We mostly used our Scamp for boondocking / dry camping, and found that it's the perfect trailer for that. We have a 100W solar suitcase that we use to charge the battery when camped without hookups. During the course of our travels we stopped by the Scamp HQ in Minnesota for a tune-up, and had them install the 12-volt cigarette lighter outlet so that we could also charge phones and laptops off the battery when boondocking with solar (this is a tremendously useful feature if you're planning on boondocking at all!)

In addition to the Scamp itself, there are a bunch of useful accessories we'll include: the solar suitcase, a Curt sway control bar (the connection is welded onto the Scamp frame), a tongue weight scale, a cover for the Scamp, electrical extension cord, a second set of cushion covers, microwave, fiberglass cleaning supplies, tire chocks and trailer jack.

Fridge, fan, stove, sink, shower, toilet, A/C, furnace, electric, hot water heater, awning, etc. all work great. The only design flaw in Scamps circa 2009 is that the pop rivets they used tend to losen over time. These can easily be replaced with screws and acorn nuts as needed. In fact, while we were out in Minnesota, we had Scamp HQ fix a few of them for us last summer.

There are only a handful of bumps and bruises that can easily be repaired or replaced: broken TV antenna, loose latch on the fridge door, and a small leak from the clean water supply to the toilet that's been there since we've owned the Scamp. Basically, a little bit of clean water pools in the base of the shower after several uses. It probably could be fixed without too much trouble, but we never got it checked out because it was only a minor annoyance for us.

We'd love to find our Scamp a new home where folks will use it and enjoy it. We simply can't let it sit in storage when someone else could be out having the time of their lives with it!

P.S. If you want more specifics or photos let me know!

Thanks for the offer, Tom! Sadly Denver is a bit of a hike for us, otherwise I might have taken you up on it. We had a fabulous time in Colorado earlier this year.

More photos of 2009 Scamp 16'

I can't figure out how to edit the posting, so here are more photos of the 2009 Scamp 16'. If you'd like a photo of something specific, let me know. The Scamp is currently in storage about a hour north of me, but I have many photos on file or can grab new ones within the week. Thanks!

Hi!

Is your scamp still available? I am a travel nurse from FL, and am looking for a new home away from home!

Thanks,
