My understanding is that this unit is owned by a Nigerian prince who needs to raise a little money in order to get access to $20 million in a foreign bank account, and if you'll send him the $1,535 he'll let you in on a cut of the $20 million. You'll need to negotiate on how much of the $20 million you'll get.

If I offer them cash and a bonus for bringing it to me and to meet me in the parking lot of the police station I wonder if they will show???

We already bought a deal like this, so if the past is prelude, we'll buy this one, too!

Ours was a wee bit more than that stated price...ya gotta be proud!

too good to be true

Oh shoot! I should have waited; I bought the $7000 Airstream 19 when I really wanted a Scamp 16 with automatic transmission....

All kidding aside there was listing for an 2005 Airstream 19 for $7000 on craigslist a few weeks ago. I knew it was a scam but decided to play along
for a while -
First thing they ask is to move to a private email account to continue discussions. I got the spiel in-the-service-been-redeployed-must-sell-will-ship-to-you and that response was quite convincing. I expressed some skepticism and received another well-written response assuring me that all was well. That AS, too, had automatic transmission (its'a trailer) and ebay would handle the transaction (on craigslist listing). Again I balked and the next few emails were written by someone who clearly did not have english as their native language. I played along for a few more messages and then lost interest. I continue to shut down scam listings when I spot them.

That automatic transmission feature is a nice feature. Almost as good as the Jacuzzi feature.

These type of ads provide much entertainment to people who know about trailers, auto, and boats.

However, the world is full of nice naive people who do fall for such ads.

I hope that all senders of such ads roast in HELL!

Agreed Bill. The scams repeat because they work. Sad.
