Scamp 16 Layout 6

Scamp 16- Layout 6 with side dinette, front bathroom, bed in rear

As we are upsizing so we are including many items with Scampers as they are not applicable to the new Escape 19.

We were hit by a large tree limb in January during an ice storm on Jekyll Island. This removed the awning and cracked the rear roof and deformed the rear window.

Scamp sent an estimate for fiberglass repair and cost of replacement HEHR window for insurance purposes.

The window is $180 and ~ $3k for fiberglass and labor.

The cracks were sealed with butyl tape and additional strips of duct tape cover gel coat cracks

The Fiamma awning has been replaced (Feb) along with Scamp factory mounts.

Other items include:
New kitchen and bathroom faucets
Larger deep cycle battery
Tow hitch & ball for 2 receiver with antisway bar
Rear stinky slinky carrier with 2 Rhino hoses, 1 additional hose in Scamp carrier in front
Y connector for sewer hoses for hookups to have both gray and black water connected.
New 800 watt microwave
Set of wooden wheel chocks
Bal single wheel leveler (easy to make sure side to side is spot on)
Exterior levels one in rear one on door side
New propane connector hose

We continued traveling with the temp roof repairs but Scampers needs some FG work and the rear window replaced so it can slide open and closed.

Asking $13K OBO

Scamp 16

Picked her up at Bakus October 2014 and stored in pole barn until we began travel early 2015. Sorry missed adding the year.

Free to good home?

Forgot to add a Scamp cover is also part of the package.

Thought about "Free to Good Home" as we loved our Scamp and want it to go to someone who will enjoy it.

Insurance will not cover us to take the trailer to Bakus and cover 3 days there, 2-3 days in Bakus and 3 days back.

So if anyone is willing/able to tackle the FG repair work all they need is a 2" receiver and a brake controller and it is ready to roll.

No reasonable offer rejected.

Cheers all,

Bat Dude

Have you checked with fiberglass boat repair shops or Corvette repair shops?
Although it doesn't look that bad in the pictures, there could be more damage not revealed.

Yes, I checked autobody and boat shops.

None were interested in doing the work.

One boat guy did suggest that the repair could be ~$1.5 K but they had no time to do it. IUtwoudl sit in the shop for > 4 months as they are too busy with boat damage.

Has it been leaking where the damage is or were you able to seal it adequately?
What other features does it have? Ac, fridge size, flooring type, etc?
Could you possibly send or post some interior pics?

Where are you located? I am very interested as my husband and I are teachers and have until the beginning of August to be able to travel, pick up, drop off, and get something repaired. Currently looking to replace my ‘88 16ft Scamp.

Thanks!

JMO, but doesn't it make more sense to have the insurance company pay for repairs? You've paid for insurance, why not use it? Someone buying it "as is" gets a pig in a poke. Unless you happen on a clueless buyer you'll take a huge hit vs selling a repaired trailer with no issues.

I'm kind of surprised that someone hasn't jumped on this. From the pics, the FG repairs look to be minable and a very doable DIY job. Certainly not like some of the other Humpty Dumpty broken TTs we've seen repaired by members here. The title will remain clean unless BD lets the insurance company take it. I don't see this one as a pig in a poke at all.

I agree, it doesn't look that bad. Maybe it's not selling because there are no pictures of the inside....

Other posters have asked for pictures, but I don't see any being added.

16' Scamp [4-sale]

Hello, sorry to hear about your damaged Scamp.
I am interested but confused about your posts, is the insurance Co. totaling this camper? I am in PA. & would love the chance to repair this for my personal use.
I feel the price is a bit too high die to the repair issue, what would be enough for you to part with his one?
Thanks

Interested parties might want to send a PM to the seller with your contact information and talk about price and repairs in private.
