Sorry Clive, I don't know if it's original. But basic black goes with everything!

The Boler American of Witchita, Kansas was only built for one year --- 1972.

Did the previous owner have any other indications of memory loss?

Well given my serial # - in the 3000 range - and the information provided on this site, I'm sure I have a 72 Boler - which is OK... and I'm sure the owner - who is in her 70's might be a bit wrong with the year... we wrote up a Bill of Sale and she is getting a replacement title for me... so I'll let her know when I talk to her next...

Thanks everyone

Tim,

I think there are 2 groups of Boler Americans for serial #'s. Some start in the 3000's others are in the 5000's. All I can come up with is the 3 and the 5 designated where they were built. I'm hoping to learn more about the difference one day.

Hey, nice pic! Do you know if that's the original color? Someone mentioned a red background which sounded good so I was thinking of doing mine.
Hi Clive : Some came black on white and some came Red on White Jean-L

Wow! Thanks Jean-L. That looks sharp.

That little piece of info could qualify to go into the Boler American history!

My questions is "why"? Different years? Different manufacturing cities? Model? Anyone have a clue?

Well I have serial # 3043 - checked it out last night - - and the fiance came home too, and wasn't all too concerned with the 1972 Boler, I got her looking a bit better with new tires/rims and even though the entire inside has been gutted out, she is starting to see the big picture...

Hi. I just purchased a 1970 1300 a couple of days ago. It needs cosmetic work and I've already started the reno.
I have pics in my profile, but I can't seem to bring them up on my post. Lol. Also I'm a newbie when it comes to bulletin boards. I have never used them until now.

Hi Scoot, Welcome to the forum. This thread (conversation) hasn't been active since 2008 and the original poster been gone over a year. I'd recommend you repost in the "Hi, I'm.." section. Just click the forum link and then in the upper right is the drop down menu "forum tools". Select "post new thread"

Congrats on your Boler!
