1988 Perris Pacer renovation

I thought I'd share the journey we are on right now to get this little beaut back in action.

I'll start with how we found this poor girl, on a farm in Virginia. It had moss and lichen growing on it! Lichen!!

Waxing time...

Gave it a bath and ran a buffer with rubbing compound and then waxed it.

renovation of the interior

Tore out the old carpet and flooring, sanded the fiberglass walls and took the cupboard doors off to have them refinished.

New LED running and brake lights

Had a lot of trouble connecting the lights to the Honda. the camper came with a 7 pole connector and the Element runs a 4 pole. So I had to use my multimeter to trace the lines and get the correct wires to convert the 7 to a 4 to match the tow vehicle. Once I had that done, I Checked all the lighting and replaced all the incandescent bulbs and fixtures with more efficient LED lights. I will also be replacing the interior incandescent fixtures with LEDs too. This will save on my battery power and the LEDs will have less draw on the elements electrical system when I tow it.

got the furnace working

Had to break out the schematics and go through the furnace, I really wanted to get this working. We'd like to be able to camp year round so have a working furnace was paramount. At the end of it all it was just a blown 4 amp fuse. Now it works fine.

Nice to see another reno on a vintage. Quite the transformation on the outside. Can't wait to see the restored interior. Keep up the good work.

I had a pacer
Unlike the scamp trailer my trailer didn’t have the supporting bracket either
( FYI some but not all have a brace of some type that goes from end of counter to roof to support the roof especially if you have a roof a/c

New door moulding, propane tank, battery & box

For the door moulding I used is Metro Moulded IS-MW00100 Door Seal, I ordered one box off of Amazon $35, fits perfect, I think I had 3 inches left over to trim off. Bought a new Deep Cycle Marine battery with 105 amp hours at Walmart for $75. I will be buying a solar trickle charger to keep the battery charged. and a 12 volt battery switch to put inside the camper to turn the battery on and off to save power. Box for the battery was also a Walmart buy for $7.50 The regulator for the propane had to be replaced so I bought one that had 3 feet of hose with it and replaced the entire connecting line, teflon taped the connectors and bolted the tank down. 12 volt system is running perfectly now.
