Trailer: 1999 21 ft Bigfoot (2500 series)
Ok so we went on our maiden trip in our new to us bigfoot. Our 1999 trailer has so many nice features to us that we were so excited to get her and we are still happy having been out now.

However when we left our battery was fully charged and where we went we were off the grid. What we noticed was too things that seemed to happen repeatedly through out the weekend. The hot water heater has an electric start and would kick off every few hours, and would have to be restarted. Meanwhile it would be draining the battery.

The battery itself had to be charged everyday, good thing I have a generator or we would have had no refrigerator either.

I have seen someone who had made a modification of having two batteries installed in their trailer. I think we want this can someone direct me on this can be done? I will not be doing it myself I would have it done for me, as I am not able to do that kind of thing.

The other thing we have noticed is that the Black water tank shows 2/3 full alll the time even though it is empty. Any idea how to get this to change?

thanks

Alexandra

P.S. the weekend was wonderful and we really dolove our trailer just she needs a little help.

Bigfoot is a great camper congrats and have fun with it. If I understand things right do you use 12v for your fridge ? If so that's your problem , to run a fridge while camping on 12v it will suck your battery down in a hurry. I always use propane for my fridge.

1. Link to Bill Abbay's Battery Mod in his 21' Bigfoot

2. Most probable cause of that is the sensor probe(s) having something obstructing, or shorting across them.
