7 prong trailer plug question.

What brand name or type 7 prong trailer plug comes with the 1996 and newer 16' Scamp?

I can tell you that my 2004 Scamp came with an RV plug, but the owner's manual was still showing the 6&7 plug with the round prongs which are now pretty much obsolete.
If you are faced with wiring to tow any Scamp with brakes, I think it would be better to update the Scamp with an RV plug than it would be to retrofit your TV.
I know that the RV plug was supplied before they changed the manual but just how long before is a mystery...Someone else here may be able to help, but being a 1996, it might be best to see the particular trailer or consult it's present owner.

Kevin by the way the 96 I just sold had a 6way metal plug on it when I bought it. I cut it off and wired up a 4way flat just to get it home, then I took that off and wired up a 7way rv plug.

When I ordered my 2001 Scamp I asked about the plug. He simply asked me which type plug was on my Jeep and then the factory put the matching plug on the trailer.

I don't think it's a big deal, you just have to communicate with the factory.

If you are buying a used trailer then you take your chances. It depends on what was ordered by the purchaser or even changed by one of the previous owners.

However, changing a plug to fit your tug isn't any big deal either. I did it on my utility trailer mating a 3 wire to a 7 Bargman. I simply didn't use the extra blades and attached the 3 to the correct blades.
