Does anyone have the dimensions of a 99 scamp 16 exit hatch vent lid, I need to replace mine, it is cracked. Any help would be appreciated.

The one in my 1988 is 15x22: 15 inch x 22 inch (Vent Measurement) Roof Vent Lid Only

"Newer" trailers use 18x25: 18 inch x 25 inch (Vent Measurement) Roof Vent Lid Only

You need to know which one is on your trailer:

John, I wouldn't hazard a guess. Unless someone answers up with a definitive answer for a 1999 16' Scamp.... I'd call Scamp or measure yours yourself.

Good luck and let us know when you find out... it may help others in the future

A few months ago when I went to order the 15X22 for my '84' Scamp 13 the parts dept at Scamp told me that size wasn't available anymore. He said I'd hafta put in the 18X25, & since the PO had covered the opening with a sheet of stainless steel & 'siliconed' it in place I didn't object. I've not yet installed the new vent/escape hatch but it's leaning against the wall in my storeroom waiting for a nice day to cut out the existing patch, install the new vent & ceiling trim... Figured that was a good excuse to buy one of the oscillating multi-tools with appropriate cutters to enlarge the opening in the roof.

The 15x22 is listed on their website you can still purchase it. Mine is not in need of the 15x22 looks like it is the 17x24 Jensen with a piano hinge.

Yep, it was listed on the website when I went to order it. I'm pretty sure I heard the guy correctly that it was no longer available (or possibly that they didn't use that size anymore??). Since I knew I was gonna hafta either do some cutting or some kind of heavy 'prying' along with considerable cussin' in order to get the stainless sheet off, I just agreed & took the 18x25. Had thought I'd install a Fantastic Fan Vent in place of the original roof vent but that would've entailed considerable modding & 'fairing' of the old opening to add fiberglass for the correct sized opening. I'm gettin' too doggone old to be standing on a 7' ladder (or any other height ) & leaning over the trailer trying to 'build up' enough 'body glass' to accept & hold the 14x14 FF. Much easier to measure (twice ), mark, & then use the multi tool to enlarge the existing opening for the new vent size. If I drill the correct holes & install the new inside framing/trim, installing the new size vent should be just a matter of placing the butyl taped vent & driving the stainless screws thru the fiberglass roof into the framing, after dipping/coating each screw with lexel or other non silicone sealer of course

Do you know if the lids just slide off, or how do you take the lid off? Thanks!

You have to disconnect the lift arm first. Then there should be a big screw in the end of the hinge. Remove the screw slide out the old cover, then reverse the procedure.

I replaced the 15x22 on my 16' '88 Scamp last summer. No problem getting the part from them. You might want to try again just in case.

You may well be correct. My hearing being what it is I probably misunderstood what I heard from the parts person. I think I'm gonna keep the 18x25 & install it. Since the piece of stainless that the PO put on is larger than the original opening & it's really stuck there; he was an auto body repairman & used some kind of very strong adhesive & then silicone, I'll enlarge the opening enough to accommodate the new vent. Once I've measured & marked the new perimeter I'll just drill a small hole at each corner, use a utility knife to cut away the ensolite inner liner, & then use the oscillating multi tool to cut the fiberglass. I'll probably appreciate the larger opening if I ever hafta use it as an emergency exit anyway
