Unhappy

I am planning to install a window air conditioner in my Cloud, at floor level through the front wall under the window. Has anyone done this? Are there any special concerns regarding the double wall penetration?

Thanks for any input.

We did it through the back on our Burro. The hubby just built a support from the bumper to hold it.

Of course, we sold it 3 years ago and have no idea what is happening to it now .

someone did a thread with pics of one installed and ducted..you could do that in the front area where the swamp coler tank resided and duct in and out from under or side without the huge hole of exterior mounting....Bruce

I want to mount in the front wall to keep weight on the ball, and I need to do have the air conditioner go through the wall because I am making a front dinette.

thanks

Don,
My point was, get the structure for the air conditioner and cut. We just went out the back of our Burro but added our structure.
We also added a front dinette by using the tops of captain's chairs from which we removed the legs. Then the hubby added swivels. Worked nicely.

Please post pix as you do this. The Cloud is the daddy (or mommy depending on your point of view) of the Uhaul, I think.

Just be aware, that cutting a hole in the front large enough for an air conditioner also MAY cause problems when driving during a rain storm. You'll literally be driving water into that area.

Don,
There is a post on Uhaulcamper (with good pictures) in the historical posts (payment of 20$ required to access these) by someone who put in an airconditioner in their CT. The post is by Scooba68 on July 14, 2008 under 'Pics of my CT'.
