awning rail needed

Where can I buy an awning rail that works with slide hook awning tabs, I purchased the tabs at Walmart for our other camper. Now I need rail for our newly purchased camper.
We now have a 16 ft. 2001 Scamp.
Have checked several places but not sure the rails I found will works with the hooks.
Thanks.

Rich can you post a photo of the tabs to give folks a better idea as to what you are after. I'm not sure I have seen the type of tabs you are after - have only seen the slide in awning hooks for lights.

awning slide hooks

I believe they are the same.
On the older Casita there was aluminum rail that we slid the awning into -a thin rope sewn into the awning-pulled through the rail. These hooks can be slid into the rail and we can attach lights or a tarp and use that for an awning.
Hard to explain and I have no pictures of the rail.
Dont know how to post pictures and hubby is out of town now.

Thanks-Mrs.C

i think you will find they are the same as sailboats use for their luff .

they come in different sizes depending on diameter of the rope.
so thats another option for you to look at.

awning rail-shiffting gears

Have decided against the awning rail idea. Found some and just dont think it is what I want.
I have decided to go with the suction cup idea to hold my tarp awning in place.
i have found the single suction cup type that you use in the bathtub-to hold onto.
Talked to a camper that has used these and said they really work.
This weekend at Kamp Kansas will be the test.
Thanks for all the help.

Rich the good news about that idea is that it doesn't cost a lot and no holes in the trailer so if it doesnt work its not a great loss. When I had a dog I used suction cups on the outside of the trailer to hold his leash and dirty towels by the door - I went through a couple of different brands until I found some that actually worked well - a lot of them didnt have the holding power they claimed to have.

suction cups

I bought 2 suction cup hand grips at walmart in the pharmacy section. They are used in the bathroom to hold on to when getting in and out of tub. i put them on this afternoon and they are still holding-I even hung from one just to see if it would hold . Glad no one was around to see my experiment!
I then tried to get one off to move it and it was really on tight.
I think they will hold pretty good.
No holes drilled. Yeah
Will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

Your asking me to remember such details!! you know me better than that!!! What I can tell you is the big ones I purchased at London Drugs from their bathroom section - I think they were called Power something - they fell off all the time. I also tried some from Rona - not so great. But some smaller ones I picked up someplace else for a 1/4 of the price did work - may have been a dollar store!

Still have some in the trailer will give them to you to try - they may work better for you.
