Ball Hitch size for '82 Burro

I need assistence from the Burro owners. What size ball hitch did they come equipped with? I'm buying an '82 from a nearby state, however the owner doesn't have it handy and can't remember the exact ball size.

Thanks in advance!!

If you're not absolutely certain, buy two: 1 7/8" and 2", keep the receipts and take back the one you don't need. Easier than running around after you get where you're going to pickup your trailer and finding out THEN you've got the wrong one!

Multiple Ball Sizes..

No! That's NOT what I meant! Shame on you!

:)

Our '80 Burro also has a 2" ball. 99% sure yours will have the same size.

You can get a system called a 'Change-a-Ball' or 'Swap-a-Ball' - I've seen them called both - that consists of a metal post that bolts to your vehicle's hitch platform. You then get multiple ball sizes that drop over the post and lock on place with a sliding pin. The cheaper set comes as 1-7/8" and 2" balls, the more expensive set has 1-7/8", 2" and 2-1/16" balls. The largest ball is for really heavy trailers, and it won't fit on the cheaper (taller) post.

If you have a receiver-type hitch, where you slide in the square tubing that the ball mounts on, you can mount up to 4 different ball sizes on the tube and rotate the one you want to the top for use.

Hopefully you have just one trailer, and won't need to worry about any of this!

Also: WELCOME & ENJOY! Hope to see you at the 2004 National!
