Way back before the board was hijacked there was a thread on this issue. (Check out the original "Legacy Post" on this topic.)
I'm bringing it back up again since I'm trying to put together a table of bed dimensions for the various common eggs. The topic comes up periodically and I'm hoping we can put something together people will find useful.
Anyway - The info I'm looking for is the bed dimensions: width (shoulder to shoulder - measured from the wall to the furthest edge of the bed) and length (head to toe - measured wall to wall). I know that for most eggs these will vary depending on exactly where you measure, but if we standardize on the MAX of each dimension - at least we know where we stand.
My recollection is that Boler's, Scamps and Casita 13/16's have 48" wide beds, and that Scamp dlx's and Casita 17's have 54" wide beds. I don't recall the width of the Liberty and don't know the length of any of them.
I'll post the assembled info as soon it's combined and I figure out how best to post it.
Thanks
Mike

1975 13' Trillium 44-47W x 76L
The width is w/o the board I use as a bed extension.
With the table corner (angled) cutaways and the extra wall thickness in back where the table hinges mount, the middle is the narrowest width. sigh
That's why we sleep head to toe, and in sleeping bags!

This is the list I had assembled from posted information in this forum, a couple of years ago. The "code" formatting is just so the columns will line up (it should, by displaying in a fixed-width font), since the forum software doesn't support tables...
Code:
Make Model variant year Width Length Source Comments
inches inches
Scamp all deluxe 54
Trillium 1300 48 Nancy D
Trillium 4500 54 Nancy D
Casita 16' Sprirt 1989 48 Suz
Casita 17' non-Liberty 54 Suz
Scamp 16' standard 1995 44 or 45 74 Pat G
Scamp all standard current 45 Scamp via Paul E Henning
Scamp all deluxe current 54 Scamp via Paul E Henning
Burro 17' wide 2000 53 84 Per Walthinsen
Casita 17' SD 2000 53 73 Dick Rothfuss
Boler 1300 1978 48 78 Rick F. D. width at max? incl filler
Trillium 4500 52 77 Rick F. D.
Burro 17' wide 56 87 Rick F. D.
Thanks Mike; I look forward to the compiled result.

It's nice to see my Scamp Deluxe is exactly what Paul offered up:
The bed in my 16' Deluxe measures 52 1/2 X 78. Of course the back wall is curved...I think I could be jealous of those with "flat backs." Makes me more determined than ever to have 5th wheel... no more crawling over a body to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night...if one sleeps front-to-back vs. side-to-side.

Our LiteHouse Trailer-For-Two has a bed measuring 63" wide x 78'' long --- the Trailorboat's bed measures 47" wide x 77" long. Both "comfortable" in their own way(s)!

Thanks for the link to the legacy post. (I'd forgotten about my off-color, but obscure, sig line!)
I don't think the threads need to be merged, but it's VERY good to have a link to the old one. I wasn't able to find that thread when I searched before posting. Probably just a lack of diligence on my part.
I'm sure it'd take ages to assemble the numbers for the more obscure eggs (although a million Boler clones will all be the same). I'm just hoping the most common ones can be well covered.
At this point there's a few specific questions:
Are the Scamp 13' and 16' trailers the same width? (bed length on all about 74/78?))
Same question for Casita (all 73/77?)
I'm seeing two very different numbers for bed length: 74" and 78". Difference is where measured or difference in trailers?
Similar story with Casita bed length (73" vs 77")
Same Story with Compact Jr (70x72 vs 66x75)
Again with Burro wide body's (53 vs 56 and 84 vs 87)
Common trailers with no info yet:
Scamp 5er loft
Burros ('cept 17-wide)
Big Boler

Brian... how did you post that table?

While you are creating or editing a post, there is a button with a "#" label. That works like the adjacent quote button to surround the selected text in tags which say "code"... which means leave the formatting alone (including spaces) and use a font in which each character is the same width.
I laid out the table in a crude editor that displays everything in a fixed-width font (the Windows Notepad) so it looked right, pasted the contents into the post editing window, selected the stuff I pasted in, and hit the "code" button.
You either have to put the spaces in yourself to line stuff up, or use an export format from a spreadsheet which adds them for you.

Just did a double check on the measurments in the 2000 Casita 17SD
Rear bedroom width is a full 54" plus, measured at either side of the centre aisle to the bulkhead or counter. Length varies from 76 1/4 to 77 depending on where the measurment is taken on the front 3/4 of the bed, so I would call it 77". The measurements are affected by the rear corners, but I am quite comfortable sleeping flat on my back against the back wall and I am over 6', unless of course if the dog decides he wants the back corner by my feet!
The side dinette bed is 25 x 73.

Thanks for the resolved measurement on the Casita!
Eggs have Curves:
I've decided to blatantly ignore the curves in the ends of the beds of most eggs (other than a brief note in the chart). It's bad enough doing the measurements this way without accounting the the sizes of the actual curves involved.
Besides - beds SHOULD be bigger in the middle: Their occupants usually are...
