Best way to flush water lines for use

Getting ready for the season with our Scamp 13', do most of you use vinegar/bleach every year?

for me, a 5% solution using non-scented chlorine bleach and plain water.

Keep in mind that the terms "Non-scented" and "Unscented" actually refer to common bleach and is what you want to use. For example, Clorox "Citrus Blend", and others with similar names, have less than 50% of the active ingredient of regular bleach and is not listed for disinfecting purposes. What you want to use should say that the active ingredient is "Sodium Hypochlorite" usually 5%-6% strength.

If it doesn't smell like bleach it's the wrong stuff.....

BTW: Vinegar is best to use on salads and has very little value as a disinfectant.

I do mine once a year. Occasionally I will do it mid season as well if I have picked up some bad/smelly water along the way someplace. Mix the bleach into the water in the holding tank and fill it up. Then run water through all your water lines. If you have a grey tank let the water/bleach run down into it as well - those can get a bit stinky with time if not rinsed out with a wand well a couple of times a year also. Let it sit for a couple of hours. Then drain it all out and refill the water tank and run the clean water through the whole system again.
