Bigfoot 21RB

Considering purchasing a Bigfoot 21RB. Is there any kind of checklist that I could use to evaluate the trailer? Do the axles/suspension need replacing after a time? How much of a problem is floor rot in these trailers (I am looking at a 2005 model)? I now own a 1979 Argosy and after repairing the floor in it I don't want to go through that again.
Any help from current owners would be awesome!
Thanks

Hi, Bruce. Look for the Buyer's Check List in our Document Center (located in the "More" menu, at the top of the screen). It's not Bigfoot specific, but has lots of good information.

And, welcome to FiberglassRV.com!

I have a 2001 Bigfoot 21RB. The undercarriage does not need replacing just check it out for wear etc. Look at age of tires if over 6 years replace them. Floors are not a problem unless it leaked. Check inside the cabinets upper and lower. Look at the ceiling for water marks. Look at the roof make sure all the sealing around vents are good. Make sure everything works.

Wasn't there a mention of a recall to add tongue weight to certain year BigFoots. Anyone know the specific years and models included?

2521FB Models

I don't know which years but I believe the recall was for the FB models. The way I understand it was that the water tank was located in the rear of the trailer which unweighted the tongue and caused a dangerous sway situation. The solution was to add extra weight to the front of the trailer.

Bob, If you go to the Bigfoot Owners Club someone already posted the problems they had with a front bedroom unit. The factory added 250 weight to the tongue. If you towed the trailer with less than a 1/2 ton truck then you would have tongue weight issues. People think they can tow with a MiniVan or similar.
Models were I think 2004 to 2009 21FB.
