broken window

For no apparent reason someone smashed the rear window on my 2015 17 foot Casita. Casita will ship me a new one but I am wondering if anyone has some advice on replacing windows. I have been advised not to use silicone caulk, true or false? If no silicone what should be used for sealing the gaps? In the learned group opinion is this a job for a low skill owner or should I take it to a repair shop? Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Get yourself some of the 1" wide Butyl Rubber double-sided tape which is made for mounting these windows, and is also used by OEM's to install these. Any RV/Trailer Supply place should have it on the shelf, as it is a pretty common item. You're right, you don't want to use silicone sealant on these, (or pretty much anything else for that matter.)
Sorry to hear about your damage. That really sucks.
