Buffing old oxidation question - Fiberglass RV

Buffing old oxidation question

Hey all,

Looking for tips when using a power buffer to remove old oxidation. I have the products I will be using based on other's recommendations, but the question I have is in regard to the Scamp decals.

Will buffing right over these decals risk peeling them off or damaging them? Do you just get close and hand buff the areas immediately adjacent to and inside the Scamp graphics?

I've never used a power buffer on anything before, so any tips would be appreciated. This is for future reference, since I will be away for three weeks in a couple of days, will tackle buffing the Scamp on my return. Thanks.

Since our Scamp is fairly new and is not oxidized, I don't have any personal experience to offer.
However, you might find the following article from "The Boat Galley" interesting?

Use a light touch with a power buffer and any sharp edges buff by hand as the power buffer will go through the paint on a sharp edge very easily.

If you are worried about the decals you can put blue painters tape ocer them and hand buff around them after you remove the tape.
