carpet on door

Has any one ever glued thin carpet to the bottom half of the door to cover up the mess. We have some tan carpet left from covering a step for me and thought then I could live with this ugly door. Jo

Donno.. I think the Rat Fun on the bottom of my Scamp door is cleanable.

Maybe instead of finding a solution, you should look to find the problem. Like a better door seal?

pictures of our door

The door isn't dirty in fact I have painted it. It is the repair jobs on it from the previous owner. We can't even put weather stripping all alone the bottom because it would not shut easy then. We have decided to leave it for the first trip and then maybe take it off and work on it more. Here are picture to show what I am talking about. Thanks everyone for all your help. JO

Depends on the age of the Scamp whether the interior of the door is bare fiberglass, ensolite or rat fur. Some have covered the bottom foot or so with a metal kickplate. Easy to wipe off too. I'd be more inclined to do that than add something else that needs a deep cleaning.

30 year old scamp

Using carpet would be a fast fix. With a kick plate we would have to bolt through the door since it has to be cut and fixed proper after our two trips. Thanks for the tip. We will remember that when we are redoing the door later on. Thanks Jo
