We're looking at a couple of Casitas...one is a '98 and one is a '96. Having recently read that the refridgerator won't make it out through the door or, possibly, the window should it need replacement, we're wondering if the windows have been enlarged in recent years. Any other significant changes? Does anyone know of an available "list" of the "evolving upgrades" to the Casita over the past several years? Mac

We have a 2002 Casita Liberty with the smaller window - the refrigerator will not go through the window or door. I believe the 2003 Casitas have the bigger back window. We're not worried - we have been told that the refrigerator can be repaired in the trailer. Harder but do-able. We hope they are right.

There was an era when the cabinet latches were crummy - but they were apparently (from what I heard) so bad, they've probably already been replaced by the current owners (and under warranty, at that?)

Our '99 didn't have the bad latches; it was later than that, but I'm not sure which year(s) they were a problem.

(Not very helpful, am I?)

Okay, I'm not trying to chase you away and I definitely want you to come back, but the most extensive list I've seen about all the Casita changes over the years has been prepared and maintained by Gene (webmaster) over on the CasitaForum (D'oh). You have to be a member to view the information, simple as pie to join, same as here. Here's the topic for those that are already members:
Casita Factory Changes, Upgrades over previous years

PS: as a sneak peek... the bigger back window was put in starting with 2003 because of the refrigerator.

Excellent info. -- thanks to all! Yep, we're all signed up [at] Casita Forum, but unable to post so far. No doubt they'll help us through that, and we should be able to read the subject post anyhow. Meanwhile, we do so appreciate what each of you have contributed here. Very helpful. Count on us to share and help others as we gain experience/expertise, too. Mac

Yes, that IS very helpful -- just the kind on info. we need as we're into the search for "our" Casita. Much appreciated! Mc
