Sparky1,
Both Lowes and Home Depot have "buy online for store pickup". Before I drove that far, I would make sure they have it by buying it before leaving the house. Did you check Jamerson Building Supply? They are a Do It Best affiliate and may either carry it or be able to get it.

Was you looking for the REDMAX or the ZEP...I know Lowes discontiued carrying the REDMAX and started carrying the ZEP, I think mainly because they were the same product made at the same company with the same ingredients....I saw a whole line of the ZEP products today at my local Lowes store and I'm alot closer than Califorina and they had it by the gallon....Hopefully this helps if not send me a PM and I'll if I can help you farther.......

Smile Red Max/Zep

Our Lowe's only had the 5 gallon Red Max in the clearance section. They did have the Zep; a regular finish for $16 and a "Wet Look" for $24.

Looking about, I ran into what appears to be the same thing at Wal-Mart on clearance, called Armstrong floor finish if I recall. There seem to be several different brands touting the same thing. Are they similar or is Red Max/Zep the only good one?
Chemists? anyone?

Has anyone been bold enough to use on their car?

Just checking our local Lowe's - they only have the "High Traffic" and the "Wet Look" in the Zep. There is some Red Max but only in 5 Gallon buckets.

Thanks for this very timely information. Today I lay eyes on my new [to me] 1300 Trillium. It will likely need some cleaning and a good finishing before I start the summer season. There are Lowes stores here in Ontario [Canada] and I will try to get a gallon of that Red Max on the way home to Newfoundland.
Does anyone know if the "Bartender's Friend" is available in Canada?
Thanks. D.
P.S. Had to get off the road and take a hotel in Riviere du Loup last Saturday night due to blizzard conditions. Only in Canada eh!

Getting Ready

My Scamp is on the road to me being delivered. I wanted a shiny trailer when I got it, so dropped by Lowes this morning. They had plenty in stock of all of it.

Yes, I got BarKeeper's Friend at the Home Hardware store, which is the only retailer I have seen it at in Alberta. They had both liquid and powder versions. Liquid worked well for me, but others on this thread feel that powder is better.

I found Barkeeper's Friend at Bed Bath and Beyond at CrossIron Mills Mall in Balzac, AB. I would imagine that they carry it in all their stores.

I can't wait to try this and am wondering how much of the zep you guys have used for 4 coats. Where I'll be doing it I won't be near a lowes or home depot and want to make sure I have enough. Thanks! Also sounds like you just rub it in with a cloth? No wiping off? And should I be wearing gloves?

Also one more question. Some people have been talking about the paint on their fg I don't know that mine is painted. Is that possible?

You just wipe it on and let it dry, it does not take much, 2 coats used about 8 oz so a gallon will give you 16 coats.
