Another product that works great is Flitz. Bought a tube of it years ago and it's still good.
Very gentle abrasive and solvent of some sort. Leaves the aluminium like crome.

Careful with steel and aluminum. The two do NOT play well together! In auto body work you cannot use the same body tools (hammer, dolly, wire brush, sandpaper, anything) on steel as you do on aluminum due to cross contamination. It WILL cause oxidation that cannot be stopped due to the properties of each.

Green pot scrubbers and soap and water worked after I scraped off the big boogers. A mild abrasive might help depending on how dirty they are.

Barkeeper's Friend isn't an abrasive cleaner, it's an acidic one. Specifically, oxalic acid. A bit risky to use on aluminum, and if you do use it make sure to rinse it off quickly and thoroughly.

if you want a mild abrasive, maybe try bon ami.

I ended up getting Nevrdull because that's what I could find at our local NAPA. It is working just fine, only taking a few minutes per window. As indicated, it's not taking out pits but mine is 90% oxidation. Thanks for the help.
