Cleaning fiberglass

I have a few things growing on the trailer and some black marks that almost look like mildew. I sprayed with Fantastik OxyPower and it cleaned the area better than anything I have tried so far. I got thinking after if it works that well maybe it is causing damage. The directions say that it is safe on fiberglass, but so does my tube of silicone caulk. Does anyone have any experience? I'm thinking of going over the whole trailer. I apologize if this has been covered before, I did try the search didn't maybe phrase it right.

If you can use it on a fiberglass shower stall in your home safely, it should be just as safe to use on your trailer... provided the trailer isn't painted. That's how I determine what I'll use on my trailer.

The Trailer Goddess just finished up a winter/spring wipedown of the painted insides of our Trillium using fantastic cleaner with no (as yet) visable damages(s)!!!

Ah Ha! I've tried a number of products - some of which worked but had a toxicity issue I was not happy with. I'll be off to get some in the morning.

I worked on the trailer today, the fantastik worked well, although it also removes some of the chalking on the gel-coat. Wear rubber gloves, I didn't and it was a mistake. My hands started to burn after awhile. The final result was a very clean but dull finish, that said the finish was dirty and dull before, it just about removed all signs of mildew.

I have major work to do on this trailer, I wasn't really ready to get a start on it, but kind of fun just to do a clean up and start taking notes. The roof and several sections on the port side have delaminated. You get to think about it a bit while cleaning. I didn't really want to romove the interior to repair it but it is starting to look like it might be the best approach. If that is the case I would like to update the interior, easy on the build ins but the I'm kind of stuck with paint for the walls, that would be okay but I want a professional look.

Hi: Daryl R... I don't know if it would work for you but I used an injecter needle from Lee Valley Tools to inject glue through the Ensolite on the inside of our Boler. I also heard that Vim Cream works wonders on chaulky Gelcoat. As with any cleaner...read the label and do a test patch first.

I use spray nine it works fantastic! spray it on and watch the black streaks run, takes off mildew and bird droppings with ease

Plain old Boraxo and a scrub brush has always worked well for me. It even works well on those moldy black sports on the roof from sitting under a tree.
It works well on the ensolite also.

When I brought Amber Rose home, it had sat for about 5 years and had a nice patina of algae and black spots. Mr. Clean at 4:1 took care of it. I did have to get out the plastic putty knife for the moss growing around the window frames.
