Kent,
Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to getting to the cushion phase. Which means that would be one of the last finishing details. I go to a Linoleum City tomorrow, and hopefully find a complimentary vinyl floor pattern. One more coat of epoxy on the floor road side, and then on to install the vinyl. Hoorah! Then finally will mount the floor down to the frame.

Here is a picture of a small piece of cloth from our trailer before the remodeling. I don't know if we saved any of the curtains but I can look if you would like to see a bigger piece of cloth.

I am not sure who requested the original cushion cover pattern, perhaps John the creator of this thread. Nice color pattern for the 70's, but nothing close is going back into trailer like that. ha ha. I say that now... :-) We will see when the cushions get done.

Me again - 1973 Compact Jr.

I'm in the deciding what to do phase. The unit was painted on the inside all flat white - so I have a clean canvas to start with..

Does anyone have any pictures from any sales brochures.. etc... pictures of fabric swatches, curtain treatments...

(The 70's harvest gold and avocado green are out... LOL)

Of particular interest would be the curtains - what was originally used? What is in place are dime store cafe curtain rods and the 1.00 brackets screwed into the wood. The wood framing is being replaced as it's rotted.

Exterior - the original is a yellow/green - it was painted over - paint's coming off so I'm deciding what to do... Restore that Color or Repaint... What would have been the original color schemes?.

I'm looking to replace the canvas bonnet - with a marine grade clear - canvas - to turn the whole top into one big skylight... anyone do this?

Also I'm looking to velcro the bonnet all around - recommendations for a proper glue?

Thank you for your ideas!
Hi John,
Congrats on your new trailer, these are very cool! Where do you live? I live in Howell, MI. I owned 3 Trilliums at once and a Scamp. If you have any questions, let me know as far as products for the gelcoat and interior cleaning etc. I have a wife and son and camp at Ludington State Camp Ground often, considered by many the #1 State camp ground in Michigan. Sleepy Hollow for quick weekend trips is very nice too! This is another Michigan State camp ground. Where do you camp?

Cliff,

Here's a few pictures - http://www.joctruitt.com/Projects/Compact_Jr._1973.html

I have a logo plate on the side. I'm thinking of scanning that and figuring out how to recreate that..

I can post the jpgs when I do that.

Cliff did you get your cushions?

The only advice I have is to make sure that you lay on the cushions as well as sit on them. The feeling is different! I had a friend pick out cushions for me for my dinette. Great seats - but when turned into a bed - oh my hard as the floor.

Learning from that - for my sofa - I did part foam and part memory foam (mattress topper) and came up with a really good bed.

Scott S. recreated the Compact Jr. logo and has graciously posted a PDF. Because it's a PDF, any reputable sign shop can open the PDF in Adobe Illustrator and the PDF will convert to vector art which is completely scalable without losing any definition. This is better than trying to manipulate a JPG. Hope it helps!

Cliff - If you figure out how to recreate the plastic logo plate, I'd love to have a pair for my trailer. I did get a couple of Scott's stickers (THANKS SCOTT!), too. They're beautifully done!

I don't have logo plates on mine, and did have stickers made. I posted the contact info in a couple other threads if any one wanted to have the stickers made. They may still have the template file. Two stickers cost me under $20.
