We cover our 16' Scamp with a Budge van cover for a whole lot less money. We just unhook the side by the door and lift the cover to access the interior...not quite as handy as the roll-up section, but it works for us. We live on the coast in Oregon and have had very good results.

Did you get the one that's intended for the 8' to 10' horse trailer?

Patty, I'm curious which one you have too. This one is for 12'-14' long horse trailers, and from the picture it looks like the side zippered door is even in the right place.

Hi Greg & Wilder,

I can't remember which size I got. I think it's the #8502(10'1"-12'). When I get home I will try to find the size. The cover is a little big (the front if I remember right covers the gas bottle on the tongue) It has a zippered side door that I use to occassionally access the trailer. Will post the size if I can find it.

Patty

Hi Dale - we got the CalMark for our Scamp and it fit like a glove. The day I put it on, there was only a VERY light breeze, but it still fought me. I eventually won.

Thanks for the great info. I like the idea of using the marine wax and other products. I do live on the coast where it gets quite windy and so I am kind of moving away from the portable garage idea. I did find this cover which is breathable and I like that I can uncover the door to get in.

I'm not in a hurry so plan to give this plenty of thought.

Dale

Norris Jeffrey,
I just found your 6 month old post about your carport. Looks good. I also need a 9' clearance.
Where did you buy yours?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. I thought it covered my gas bottle, but my son said no. It's a nice cover for the money, & comes with a storage bag.

Yes. I unrolled it & on the tag is P/N 08501 (8' - 10'). My son said that it didn't cover the gas bottle. Comes with a storage bag & it's nice for the money.

What size Budge Van cover did your get? We have a 16' Scamp also and are looking for a cover - primarily for UV protection - we live in New Mexico.
Thanks,
Fran

I have a 16' Casita and used the Budge Van V2 Tyvek with great success.... held up for about eight years and going to try a cover giant to see what they are like but the budge tyvek V2 was very good to me. I encircled a few golf balls here and there for extra tie-downs

What size did you get? And does it fit down the sides OK? Those prices are much better!

I'm interested in the Tyvek cover too and checked the website. V2 is the size in the description listed by Joe. Full size van up to 18' $94.99.

on my 94 16' casita it reveals about a foot all around (with closet a/c) and completely covers the tongue up front and like another poster said we just lift the side and can easily get into the trailer.... You just need a few more tiedowns to hold it in place at the tire spokes,
rear bumper and front. Just want to try out the cover giant as it is on sale right now and it breathes ( tyvek doesn't but still enough air gets under it).... I was plenty happy with the budge V2 for my 16' but after eight years it's starting to break down on the joints (not the material)...... It also has Elastic all around the bottom.
Joe

Covergiant is having a sale right now

Covergiant for 16' Scamp
http://store.covergiant.com/ciixbndscamp1.html

Covergiant for 16' to 17' Casita
http://store.covergiant.com/ciixbdcasita.html

The covers below are of the Budge Tyvek V2 which is on all year round..... I didn't take the covergiant out of the box yet.
