cracked fiberglass outside shell

anyone having a problem with cracks in the fiberglass on a lynx prowler , have found 3 cracks , 2 small , 1 about a foot long , getting ready for vacation in a month or so , I was told to drill a small hole at the bottom of the large crack to stop it from spreading and silicone it and cover with duck tape ( good ole duck tape) , then have it repaired later , is it hard to repair , and is it costly ?? Looking for some questions to these answers ,,Thanks for your help !!

At first glance, putting silicone in the crack might make it hard to remove and clean well enough to get the epoxy to stick when repairing. Drilling will stop the crack from running further. Is this a case of cracks in the fibreglass or in the gel coat?

They might, but probably not here at FiberglassRV. You've landed on a forum dedicated to all molded fiberglass towables. A Lynx Prowler is a completely different build type. Although we may be able to provide you with answers, you might get exactly the information you need at a forum that has owners of trailers such as your Lynx.
