DOT cylinder requalification rule

The rule reduces the initial re qualification period for DOT cylinders from 12 years to 10 years from the date of manufacture.

We have had a thread on this recently. It seems that this new rule is not enforced uniformly by the distributors. The one I patronize said he was never officially notified, so the old rule rules. So much for clarity of these decisions....

Not only not ideal, but he could lose his permit to dispense.

A while back I reported the change when I had a cylinder refused at the local Tractor Supply. Today at the same Tractor Supply they told me that things are back to 12 years at least for now. A little research yielded this:

DOT halts 10-year cylinder requalification enforcement during review : LP Gas

What are great way to cause confusion, arguments, etc.

Close to the cliff or not, I think you're spot on Paul. One of the easiest ways to ruin a process or eliminate common sense is to let government beaurocrats handle it.
