I regret not buying one of the last three remaing 15' models - but the timing was all wrong. Hopefully, in a year or two, they will reintroduce the 15' model. In my opinion it's the prefect size for how my wife and I (along with out two dogs) camp. Finding a used one is almost impossible in our area.

Pat, the Trillium 4500 is the same size as an Escape 15.

Pat, I've been in your place. Wrong time! I saved money for nearly seven years, thinking a 5.0 Classic would be in my future. THEN, Reace and Tammy put up their personal 5.0 up for sale. I turned myself into a pretzel trying to come up with the last funds to buy that trailer. 15 hours later it was sold, not to me, but to a fellow fiberglasser. Boy did I hear about it I had a few choice blue words to say. BUT, things happen for a reason. That particular trailer, at that time, was not supposed to be mine. Fast forward two years and ETI was going to produce the perfect 5.0TA layout for ME. Now, I was ready... okay still about nine months to early. But, it all worked out and I'm an 1110% happy with my custom built Ten Forward.

So, I say don't sweat it. Continue to save your funds, plan for your future and things WILL fall into place at the right time.

Donna: I totally agree - When the time is right, my wife and I will find the prefect trailer for us. We love our UHaul and would have a very difficult time parting with it, but it lacks adequate storage and space, especially when you factor in two rambuncious Portuguesse Water Dogs. Our plan is to enjoy our little UHaul.

Pat, enjoy every moment you have with your current trailer... make memories! You're already head and shoulders ahead of folks that wished they had an all molded towable.

Safe travels, always.

David: the Trillium is indeed a nice trailer. I must admit I have a weakness for vintage trailers. As with the Escapes, Trilliums are almost impossible to find in our locale. I have only seen one in person and that was at a rally last year. Something to think about.

Edit: Darn you David! I just started looking at the new Trilliums - they are nice, but expensive!

I have heard that the new Trilliums may have quality issues. I would inspect one as if it were used.

At this price, this one may be available for a while, but assuming that there are no issues, it may be worth it:

At least it is on the correct coast.

David: I doubt a new one is in my future - due to the high cost. There is a dealer here in Minnesota that has a new 13' Sidekick Trillium on the lot, but they want $19k for it.

I saw the used one in New York, but that's still almost 1,000 miles away, so that's not really an option. I am not opposed to driving a reasonable distance, but that might be a tad too far.

So what are quality issues with the new ones?

I'm not sure. I have never seen one in person.

Fit and finish is the impression I get. The cupboards don't close right, the parts are misaligned, leaks..... That sort of thing. Great West has acknowledged this, but in a past tense, of course.
