Exterior cleaning?

We have a new 2013 Scamp. Over the winter the black window seals left a residue on the white paint that looks like water streaks. I washed the camper with a sponge and automotive soap and it barely put a dent in washing it off. Is there a better solution I should be using?

Turtle Wax Bug 'n' Tar, and various other similar products.

Thanks, I think I have some. No risk of damage to the gelcoat?

The only problem I've experienced is that the spot I used Bun 'n' Tar on is shinier than the surrounding surface. End up waxing the whole trailer.

Do they sell the 3M Marine Cleaner at stores? Where could I pick it up?

Being on the Coast it is sold in a lot of stores, automotive, marine & even Walmart has some of the 3M marine products. You can also purchase it at many places on line.

Check the 3M website for places to buy it.

The light consumer grade fiberglass products are called 3M Marine Cleaner and Wax and if you have oxidation to take off the fiberglass or some serious bug splatter stains etc they have one called 3M Marine Restore and Wax. I used the later 6 years ago to get rid of a pretty heavy oxidation from the trailer and have not needed to use it on anything more than a couple of really bad bug stains once or twice since. If your trailer is fairly new you should be more than good to go with just the lighter Cleaner and Wax product.

Glenn, as a life long Wisconsinite and knowledgeable about cheese with holes....... eat around that part - it's not edible. (BTW, the same is true for hollow firewood. Burn around that hollow part, there are no Btu's in it).
What's the best paste (or any other) wax for the exterior of a ('83 Scamp) that has been re-gel coated? We traveled north to Lake Superior last weekend and loaded up the front with some good, old red-clay. I'd like to clean it off, and prevent it from sticking again.
