I've read about the "factory insulation" between the shells of a Burro, and I'm just curious what they used for insulation material.

(I don't own a Burro and this is not a rush question; I'm just curious because that's how my mind works )

I have a Burro but I don't have insulation, and I am curious also.
It's not a crazy question, I have never seen it stated anywhere what they used.
I have tried shoving that aluminum bubble stuff between the walls but it only goes so far.
It has helped though, the trailer seems warmer now.

Ours has foil-faced pink fiberglass insulation just like you would put in between the studs in your home. The only difference I can see is that the foil facing is reinforced with some kind of mesh, probably to strengthen it.

It appears to be the same thickness as home insulation meant for 2x4 framing (R-13) but I haven't checked it closely enough to be certain of that.

As I have harped on in other posts, this type of insulation makes it a breeze to snake wiring past it. Not sure about the insulation in others like Oliver or Eggcamper.

Oliver uses a spray on insulation called "LizardSkin Ceramic Insulation." We've got some Oliver topics that discuss it. Here's a website: Lizardskin - Recreational Vehicle Manufacturers. Too, I know a number of hotrodders are starting to use it in the doors and some body parts to insulate for temperature and noise.

Insulation in the Sac City Burros was optional, and consisted of 2" foil-backed fiberglass between the inner and outer hull. My 17' was insulated. I don't know if any of the Plymouth, MN Burros were insulated. I suspect that more 17' wide-body Burros were insulated than the 13'. In my conversations with some of the Escondido Burro owners, it appears that insulation was also an option on those as not all of them have it.

I had insulation in my 13, and do in my 17. Per is correct, it is the pink stuff.

It also gets torn up in the cubbies, but I added a layer of cheap sunshade/foil stuff in mine to protect it.

Sure, as long as the Harley is in your Trillium!! But seriously it was PERFECT riding weather last October, in fact I was still riding in the convertible with the top down in early November, that said it has been a cool summer so who knows.
