They are the ones that hold the camper to the frame and I for one have great faith in the god of gravity because there is no way that any "expert" or "competent person" will ever be able to tell if each and every screw is sound one end to the other. If I owned a 1971 anything I would start drilling holes and putting stainless bolts up through the frame and floor.
I owned a Trillium
(and a few prewar cars) and I can assure you that even a mildly competent person could tell if the body of the trailer was attached to the frame.
Gravity(on the other hand) is merely a natural law, more worthy of study than adoration.
Just today I saw 600 tons of metal and cargo fly several thousand feet over my house at several hundred MPH, something thought impossible before competent persons made it happen.
