We drive less than 200 miles a day on average so we arrive at our next campsite by about 1:00 PM, set up and then go sightseeing sans trailer .I fill up when we are sightseeing without the trailer and the truck is full when we head to our next location, avoiding fueling with the trailer connected . I find this easier than fighting traffic at a gas station

That makes a huge difference in a lot of situations.

Sometimes people are just nasty, but a lot of times they are just stressed and preoccupied and a smile can give you both a lift.

As for where to get gas, we always try to stop at truck stops if they are available. If not, we cruise until we find a place that looks easy to get into and out of.
