Hitch mounted towel rack

I have searched high and low for a towel rack that utilizes a 2" receiver on the rear of a trailer. If not available, maybe I'll make one and become a millionaire….

The ones I've seen clamp onto the bumper/stinky-slinky storage. What would be the advantage of moving it to a receiver mount?

We just use either suction cup hooks, or if they are full, the awning arms with clothes pins). I also carry a 15m length of 6mm cord which has multiple uses, including being used as a clothes line from time to time. All solutions that weight little, and have multiple functions.

I often have a bike rack stuck in the trailer's receiver....go figure.

I already have one….no need to add extra peripheral weight….

We use a rear mounted clothes line easily capable of two beach towels and two bathing suits. Is that the kind of space you're looking for? At first I thought you were looking for a paper towel holder....

Unfortunately, Chuck H isn't making any more of these... It's super light and rolls up small.
I can get you some detail pictures this weekend if you want to build your own.

CP I have one in stock mounts on the rear bumper. Donna bought one.

Yup, slides in & the upright pieces slip into sockets in the horizontal tube.

Thanks, that may be my resort if I can not find one that utilizes the 2" receiver plug on the trailer.

This is our clothes line, 3 poles and 1 piece of rope. The two side poles slip into a "C" clamp, no tightening required. The top cross piece slips on to the side pieces.

The clothes line has hooks on each end of the rope and the hooks slip into eyelets pn the side posts to keep it all together.

Weighs virtually nothing, no fasteners required and stores easily. Of all my mods this was the one women most applauded at the Vintage Fiberglass Rally.

I have a question, please? When I purchase my camper, what would you charge for a consult fee on ways to improve my storage space in my camper?
I do believe that you can more than double the usable space in my camper!

I clicked on your link but it said no post. Could it be not working because I use the FGRV app for my iPhone? Would love to see this. Just returned from camping and all if the NY state parks we've visited won't let you hang clothesline. I guess it's a safety thing for people accidentally walking into it.

Wendy Lee, I tried it from my Computer and it did work. I then tried the link from my Smartphone, an android and it did not work. I would guess that it has something to do with the apps for smart phones.

I will go onto my computer and make Preparing a 1991 Scamp a recent app and you'll find it under Modifications

I have reported it to the moderators.

The clothes line rule is a general campground rule. Most only allow clotheslines attached to rigs. I think it deals more with looks then safety.

Jim, If you have a bike rack in your receiver, I'm sure that with minimum effort, maybe no effort depending on type, you could convert it into a clothes line.

No bike rack, just an empty receiver, that is what made me think of using what I already have!!

I really like how Honda stores the clothes rack poles with the bumper box. In fact, I love the whole set up and would like to do both to my Scamp. Nice to store a few hardware or tools items, lynx levelers, etc in.

Man, how heavy are your towels? I would have guessed that a 1-1/4 receiver was enough, but I guess some folks just like to be on the safe side....
