Hot Water, Fast!

Since out Compact II has no water heater, I tried using an electric kettle that heats 1.7 liters of water up very quickly. It worked great for washing up, washing dishes, and of course tea, coffee and hot cereal. Very light weight and it has an automatic shut-off after it reaches a boil.

I used a dishpan in the sink and mixed cold water with the hot for just the right temperature.

Kettle is available at Walmart:RivalŪ 1.7 Liter Cordless Kettle - Rival Products

I love my little electric water heater too! I'm glad that I got the one that 'whistles' because sometimes I wander outside while its heating up and the little whislte always brings me back running when its ready

I use this at home. For those of you who always stay at a site with electricity, it would be very useful. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-NC-E...dp/B0013O8J6Y/

Two other sources, and another idea:

1. COSTCO has a very nice cordless kettle the sits on it's power base for about $20. I have used mine every morning I am at home for over 2 years and gifted 4-5 of them. Nothing but rave reviews from recipients.

2. IKEA has a super nice, 1.8L., S.S. kettle with a fold-down handle that stores very easily in a Hunter Compact-II. Boils (and whistles) in a few minutes on the stove, no power required.

That water heater looks very 'cool', Sharon. Certainly an upgrade over the little Rival.
Thanks for posting it.
