Any ideas on how to make the scamp to be higher off the ground? I have a 1977 year 13' that I love but it would be nice to have it a little higher off the ground.

Your trailer is 32 years old. Does it have the original axle? If so, just changing that will take it up higher and it will probably tow better too since torsion axles have a 15-20 year life span. Good time to get brakes too if you don't have them. If you want to go even higher, you can do like I did. New axle with a 45 degree down. I now have 15" tires on my Scamp and it tows like a dream.

Charlie,

Are you trying to get the body and frame higher off the ground, or also the axle? I can't tell since you don't say exactly why you want it higher.

If just the body and frame, you can put spacers in under the frame; if you want the axle higher too, you'd probably have to gert a new axle with a different "angle" (they come with various degrees of angle, which affect the "lift."

Charlie, we got some height by changing-up the tire size. Looked a lot better with the TV, too. Vi & John
