How long have you had your trailer?

I think one measure of satisfaction is length of ownwership.
It can also tell whether a buyer knows what he wants at the time of purchase.
Mine ....?
Scamp 13 deluxe front bath.
9 years, and completely satisfied, but we owned a couple of used ones and knew what would work for us before we bought.
The Scamp owners community has been a factor as well(they are keepers)
Loved our LoveBug for a couple of years, but wanted more in the same sized package.

I think you have to normalize the number of years you have owned your FG trailer by dividing by the total number of years you have owned any kind of trailer; and then multiply the resulting number by a happiness factor varying from 0 for unhappy to 100 for super duper happy. The final number will be a % satisfied, ... I think. <_<

What one wants and or needs may vary with time. Live in the moment.

Now that sounds just like the tire and tow vehicle discussions!

True... we have one member who's had 6 new trailers in 5 years!
Some just "vary" more than others even without time!
So what do you have at the "moment" and how long has the "moment" lasted?

I have owned a fg trailer for 3 months and this is my very first travel trailer. The honeymoon is still going on and I could not be happier with it.

Love the one you're with! I've owned my trailer... going on 11 years. It suits my current needs... but, not my wants. If I could afford it, I'd have a different all molded towable in my driveway TODAY. Dang economy But, in the meantime I enjoy what I have and will continue to make tons of memories with every single camping experience.

11 months but first tow wasn't until June. I spent the winter months getting it road and camp worthy. 'm very happy with it. Since it wasn't "perfect" I got to know it well while working out all the little issues and mods I wanted. That gave me the chance to really get to know the trailer and feel comfortable with it should any problems arise while on the road. I wouldn't mind having that extra 3 ft. that the 16' trailers have, but it suits my needs. What I love most about it is that its such an easy tow. I confidently handle it by myself.

About 2 years now for our Uhaul, which was just a chance dumb luck find, our 1946 teardrop we have owned 6 years, and our 1973 Starcraft pop up we have owned since 1978. Only other camper we have owned was an old Apache pop up that we had for a couple years before the Starcraft, but we did use Mary's fathers Starcraft pop up truck camper a couple times about 1967 or 68. Would like to have it now for my 76 Ford pickup.

I have a large family (not counting pets) but our Scamp is one thing which is reserved for my wife and I.

9 years and counting. I cannot imagine selling it.
  • 1971 Compact Jr.
Originally 3 years, then we sold it, and was without it for almost 5 years. Now we've bought it back and have had it for 2 years.

Picked up in April, 2013.
Me, wife, and daughter.

Family obligations (m-i-l; etc.) won't allow us to spend
as much time with the trailer as we would like. But that
can be remedied..................back yard camping.

2.5 years with my stickie, and I'm thinking hard about replacing it with a well-rounded egg.

We've had our "new" (17ft) Casita for 14 years. We bought an old (16ft) two years prior, to see if we would like that kind of camping. (We did!)

I'm in the middle of year 13. Love "My Little Marshmallow" and have had absolutely no problems with it. I see other trailers that I like but I just can't imagine parting with "Puff" it suits Lily and I just fine.
