Trailer: 2005 19 ft Scamp 19 ft 5th Wheel

Hi all. My wife and I are new to the idea of travel trailers; they interest us because they sound like (relatively) fuel efficient ways to go touring the countryside. We plan on swinging by an egg-gathering next month (Oct 2006) so we can see for ourselves, but are so very curious, and it's hard to wait, and . . .

The big, burning question we have right now is about ceiling height for Scamps and Casitas at the 16, 17, and 19' (5th wheel). And, particular to the 5th wheel, how much head-room is there in both the main cabin and the loft? Can a pair of 5'8" people stand comfortably with their boots on?

Thanks so very much!

Peter,

5'8" isn't a problem in any of them. The lowest ceiling height I know of is a Casita 13' at 5' 9". I'm 5' 11" and don't have a problem in my 13' Scamp.

Arleen and I are 5'7" and fit real nice in our 5th wheel deluxe. We can sit up and read or watch TV in the loft.

In my Burro 13, front to back is "small".

Side to side is "smaller".

My wife always tells people you have to like the person you're with in a 13' Burro.

We have a 13' Burro and don't have a problem standing up. I'm 6' and my wife is 5'7". I guess I may slightly hunch, but I don't have to bend over or anything. We have extra floor height with additional plywood, so with the original floor, 6' would clear just fine.
