I'm in the middle of my "research", comparing RedMax, that I've used for a few years, to Liquid Glass (Liquid Glass | The Holy Grail of Car Care Products), which I applied late last summer to a small portion of the roof near the front of our 1978 Trillium. I've used the Liquid Glass on our 2013 Subaru Outback, and really like how it holds up. Further reports to follow.

Ron. Find a West Marine and get some 3m marine wax. Spend one day a year giving your Ollie a good wax job and you will be happy. I have owned too many boats and there are not any short cuts. Wax wax wax.

Woodies Wax is a good spray on wipe off solution but only if you just can't wax.

Many will probably disagree with my approach but I have been using Turtle Wax Ice on my Boler. Advantages include easy on and off, no white residue on black trim and I can wax it in the full sun. The only disadvantage I see is that it does not last as long as some of the other products.

Anyone who has seen Buttercup can comment on the shine, yes I have to wax more often but I can wax in the full sun and it is fast and easy.

Ian, I'm using Turtle Wax Ice on my truck. Really cool stuff. But like you, it's on brand new paint.

Some of the best waxes for fiberglass are made by Meguires. I've tried it, works as it's supposed to... but oh my arms. I get tired thinking about it. And won't use it again.

That's why I say, it has to be one you are willing to use... often. Folks will use a good wax, but the effort is so much they delay too long for a rewax. And that's where the problems start.

Consumer reports ra a test on waxes. The one they recommend for dull finishes is Meguiars NTX Tech Wax 2.0. Here's the link to the video, but like Donna says " use what you like."

What I can tell you what NOT to use. Last year I just got my freshly painted Boler ready and was on the road to the Oregon Gathering, I wanted to protect the paint but didn't have much time so I looked for something easy and fast. I am a fan of Meguiar's products so I bought their Wash & Wax http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...mate-wash-wax/

DO NOT USE IT. I followed the directions exactly, to the point of actually measuring the amount of product in the water. Result it turned the outside of my Boler into a sticky mess, I used it before I left Calgary and then a second time just before arriving at the Oregon event.

When I got home I had to remove it with wax & grease remover (what is used by body shops prior to painting). Then I waxed with Turtle Wax Ice and I am very happy. As Donna mentioned this is over paint.

How does the UV protection of something like 3M marine wax compare to 303 protectant? I've started using 303 and will probably continue, but I wonder if I'm doing my best to protect my egg.
