Little covers for the rivet snaps on a little Scamp

The factory is closed today and I'm just wondering is that the only place to get those little white covers for the exterior of the little Scamp? I'm wondering how much they cost also and if anybody ordered too many for a project? Did they come in a certain number in a package? thanks

While you can buy them in "kits" from Scamp for your trailer.
You can also buy them individually at your local hardware store.
Now I mean a real hardware store such as ACE, or TrueValue.
I buy them at my ACE hardware occasionally.
Take one with you to insure getting the right size and color.
You can also buy them in bulk from the internet....

If you buy them in bulk from the Internet, what do you call them? My friend needs quite a few, around 15. Can you give me an idea on pricing? Ace versus factory versus both on the Internet? Thanks

See Snap Caps near the end of this page:

(Many colors available, I was thinking of doing my Scamp in Polka-Dots.. then I sobered up).

These are two of the three online sources that I know of.. there are others.

The snap caps cost $6.95 for a bag of 100 at Little House Casita
The bag also includes 15 of the clear cup washers .
We always carry spare snap caps in case we loose or break one

I've considered that, but it would have been
"one measley little trailer"

Yours does have the early onset "egg pox" connection though!

When I phoned Scamp about the small sized caps they said they did not have any more and would not be getting them. The parts guy said to put on a daub of silicone adhesive and use the larger size. Not a good compromise.
I was thinking today of where to get small caps. I haven't found any in our small town of Sonora, Ca. I'll try Ace again.
Julie and I just got back from Placer County Fairgrounds where the vintage race car association was having vintage open wheeled cars on the banked Roseville oval. And a Custom and Hot Rod show, and a few vintage trailers. I got to ride in the Chevy Wagon tow vehicle of the winning Airstream trailer as all class winners got to take a few (slow ) laps on the banked oval track. Exciting !
As I wiped the Scamp down I notice how many caps were missing ! I also have at least one place where the little clear 'bucket' is missing that hold on the small cap. Work to do ! David in Fresno and Sonora

One reason I posted a link to Pro-Dec in post # 4 is that they do sell two different sizes. I'm not sure but I think they are the same two sizes that Scamp used in the past.

Another reason is that some people have said that the Pro-Dec caps were of better quality.

Thank you so much for the valuable information. Are the screws watertight and the caps just for looks?

Strange that Scamp Factory would not be getting more in? Why would that be? I'm glad you had such a nice time on your outing, and thank you for the information! :-)

Smile Tiny white snaps

Thanks to those who suggested places to get the small white snap covers.
I will check with the local ACE to see if they carry them.:

They used to use smaller washers and caps for the smaller rivets used to attach the curtain rods. Now they use the same size caps for everything. For the most part, Scamp only stocks what they currently use. I think there just isn't enough demand to warrant the overhead cost and space to stock the old stuff. Many parts are available through other suppliers.

You can no longer buy cabinet doors that match the old oak finish. You can no longer buy the old-style bi-fold screen door. You can no longer buy the old-style slider side windows. You can still buy the shorter door for the pre-fire Scamp 13, but I suspect that is because they still have a mold and can make one on demand.

I do wish they would give warning when they're going to discontinue a component!

And so many complain that Scamp never changes anything!
