Hi All
- just getting started with the reno of my
Boler (will post pics soon!) - but it has to be mostly the basics because we leave for our x-country trip on Saturday!!! Crazy.
Anyway - my question is this:
I'm taking the table bed, and my 9 year old son gets the bunks up front in my
Boler. I have no idea if the supports for the top bunk are factory, but the ones I have are basically metal pipe/tube, each with a small metal bracket (maybe 1 or 2" long) that supports the top bunk. The problem is that this support is not very supportive. I could easily see my son either rolling into it at night and bringing the top bunk down upon himself or on the top bunk rolling around and having it dump him onto the floor.
Does anybody have any suggestions for ways to make this bunk arrangement more secure? I considered screwing a couple of screw eyes into the roof and being able to hook it up there with some small chains or something, but I am afraid that a) it won't have the structural integrity I need and
I don't like the idea of putting more holes in the roof (in case it goes through).
Looking forward to your suggestions!!
