Hi, I just bought a 13 U-haul. The surfice is A bit oxidized. Do I need to used a deoxidizer before I use a polish? I was sold a spay on Aerospace Protectant 303 with a SPF of 40. Is there anything I need to do before I apply this to my trailer? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks,

I used Bar Keeper's Friend then Red Max Pro on my UHaul and the outcome was fantastic.

Hey bud. I was just wondering if you thinned the rustoleum like it say on the can or just went for it. Also did you get the orange peel look by any chance?

Just a Tip......

Not all Rust-oleum products are the same.

Rust-Oleum Marine Coating Topside Paint is specifically formulated for use on fiberglass and goes on right out of the can, smooth and sweet, using the roll and tip application method. Other Rust-Oleum products are more consumer grade.

I used the Rust-Oleum marine product on a pop-up trailer I restored for my son and it's "almost" as smooth as the 4X more expensive Interlux Briteside Marine paint I used on the Hunter.

The Marine product may be hard to find in stores, but is readily available on-line through Amazon etc.

Hey bob. One more question. Do I have to put the coats on 24 hours apart or can you do one coat one day then wait a day or two to put another on?

Did you dry sand with 220 between coats?
