I have seen photos on the site of many personalized spare tire covers obviously done by their owners. One I recall seeing somewhere had ""traveling Lite" in letters surrounding their cover and it really looked good.

I wish to do something like it with mine and was curious if any others here may have discovered a simple way of doing this and might wish to share their technique. Do you use stencils for the letters? What type of paint is best for a flexible cover? Does the cover get a coating of something to protect the work after the job is finished. I additionally wish to do a stencil of a logo and apply it to the cover as well.

Any suggestions will be appreciated,

Thanks

You can get a sign shop to computer cut vinyl peel and stick lettering or logo's.

I love Bluebeard & Molly's spare tire cover. Here's a link to his post about how it was made.

Hi: All I had our former Boler tire cover done at a sign shop. The sign writer didn't recommend the cut vinyl lettering as they may not stick when wet. He did it by hand using "One Shot" banner sign paint.

Ours was custom (hand) painted by a painter, flamer, striper living north of Bellingham WA. It was copied from logo of a Car Club I am a member of and oddly enough the actual painting was done inside a 17 old Boler at a rod run!

Talking

Ours was done at the local sign shop.... She used computer graphics to match the lettering and they are stick-on vinyl. Has lasted 3 years and sits outside all the time. She did the frogs on the Compact also... ( Carrie has a fixation for frogs......)

Are you going to use the Conch Republic as your logo?

We're the "Traveling Light" people and I'm glad you like our logo! We had ours done at an auto graphics place. We just chose a clip art & font and they had our tire cover ready in no time. They also did two-color decals on the sides of our Scamp & the graphic on the gravel guard after we had it painted.
