Propane Drop test

Propane questions didn't really seem to fit under any of the other forums so thought I would try here. Had a drop test done almost 3 years ago and then didn't get to use my Scamp until now. Should I repeat it? I did have the frig running a day or two to make sure it worked when I towed it about 200 miles from the sellers to my place.

Soapy water on the joins.

Possibly a pressure drop test?

That's what it is- a pressure test of the LP system, just like your gas company does before turning on the gas at your house. Testing connections with soapy water doesn't cover everything, such as a leaking valve on an appliance.

It's a point-in-time test and a good start with a new-to-you trailer, but something could go wrong the day after the test. For that reason, instead of repeating the test, I would spend the money on an LP detector.

ok so every so often I turn the gas on and turn a burner on until I smell gas and then shut the gas off at the tank and then wait a few hours and then turn the burner on with the gas still off at the tank, light the burner and it will slowly go out. If it won't light I look for leaks.

Send a message via Yahoo to Darwin Maring
If you are worried, do the test. You will sleep better.

Use a water tube manometer to check the regulator and for leaks. Several You Tube videos on how to do it
