We bought the UNIK on the 'Gallery" page. We found it in disrepair so set about fixing it up. Spent from April to Oct. doing the work. Took it to the Pine Knot Rally in Oct. as its 'maiden voyage'. Still plan to sand and put on coat #3 of Interlux paint before it gets too cold. We really enjoyed its size after years of camping in our beloved 1987 Casita.

Great Job! I just restored an Amerigo slide in and I know all the work that is involved in getting these classics back in running order. This slide in was bought for resale and I try to get out without putting too much $$$ into it.
I do not mind the work, being semi retired, but if I was working on my own trailer, 13 ft Boler, I woiuldn't mind putting the $$$ into it.
Again Great JOB

about our 18 ft. 1978 UNIK

We have really enjoyed our UNIK after 11 yrs of owning a 16 ft. 1988 Casita. It is so light inside and has lots of space. No towing problems using stabilizer tow bar and electric brakes. What year are you looking at? The 1973 models look like 13' Casitas, rounded edges. Ours is rectangular which accounts for extra space. We tow it with a V6 SUV. If you search us on this site, you'll see pics of "Nemo" before and after the renovation. Good luck. Contact us with other questions if we can help. Terry

We're in Texas so the insulation helps us keep the heat OUT instead of keeping the warmth IN ! I'd be sure & check the frame for rust or breakage. During a bumpy road trip years ago, our Casita's body broke loose from the frame (rusty bolts). We had the frame double reinforced after that & every thing re-rivoted.
