Satillite Antenna Security

For those of you who have the Tailgater a security question or two. Looking on-line at the instructions a cable and lock are suggested to secure the Tailgater. Knowing that a cable and/or lock can be cut, do you put the Tailgater in your trailer or tow vehicle when you are out and about? Or do you leave the Tailgater out?

We have a VuCube dish which is the earlier version of the Tailgater, I believe. We have used it for about six years in numerous RV parks, campgrounds and boondocking sites. We have always left it out and never had a problem. Without the controls, the dish itself is pretty worthless. So maybe that discourages thieves. I don't know how you could pawn or re-sell a dish without the remote control to operate it. We have been thinking of upgrading to a new dish type, so wouldn't be too upset if the old one walked away. That attitude should keep it from ever getting stolen.
