To clean your Scamps silicone use Mineral Spirits. I owned a 1995 Scamp it had no Silicone on the exterior.

No, no, NO silicone! I'd suggest either Proflex or Sikaflex221

2016 has caulk on belly band

I have a 2016 brand new and there is caulk or white sealant on the belly band. When someone says "caulk" we on this forum should not take it so literal..as anyone that has had a Scamp will know what they mean.

It was like this on my 2011 also. When that got dirty on the caulk/sealant..a toothbrush and softscrub w/bleach worked wonders. Came out clean and white.

Around the porch light, rain guard over door, and the awning mount has all of the white caulk or sealant also.

Also around the windows there is clear caulk or sealant that is used by the factory. I used cleaner wax this past weekend to clean the sealant flush to the black window edge.

But...I'm a bit anal....

Egg Zack Lee!

Rivets if not already going through an item with butyl tape that provides a seal can be sealed with a small wafer of butyl tape. Roll a little ball then squeeze somewhat flat, then push rivet through it. Custom fit washer is born. Did this under snap caps. Rivet tube itself if requiring sealant a tiny tip and caulk can be applied to the inside of the rivet barrel.

I spent two whole weekends cleaning caulk off, then scrubbing so I could wax without the caulk causing problems. Toss up if silicon caulk is worse than using poison ivy leaves for toilet paper..... poison ivy is worse but one can get rid of it sooner.

Belly band to keep dirt from collecting caulk can work but would still avoid silicon and probably go with painters caulk sans silicon.
