Scamp Wall-Carpeting in Bathroom?

Why expose the inside of the wall to possible water entry that you could not get too if needed?
In the Casita I have not experienced mold but if I did at least it will be easily seen and abated.

This is one of those things I have called Scamp about and asked and was told it is just the way they do it with no explanation at all. Seems like bad design to me though.

I also am amazed AGAIN that anyone who admits he has no idea makes a comment anyway about a question here?
I just can not see how this helps?

Eight years and 600+- showers still like new with no issues
If there were an issue... it would be to be sure and have an effective shower curtain, to protect the door and the bulkhead around it, outiside the shower room.
