Well, haven't heard of this before and a couple pics would help us out. I'm going to do a bit of guessing. I think I've read that older Casitas didn't have a FG sandwiched floor. If that's the case I can see the po doing this. If yours has wood showing and you can get to the screws I think I would remove them and relocate them to tap into the metal cross frame. On the other hand, if the floor is fine and since it's under the TT you could use the KISS method. Trim them off, put a bit of
paint on the ends and go camping. I promise I'll never look under your TT to check
