Starting with a gutted unit

I have found a pretty good bargain a few blocks from me. It's a small scamp from the 80's. It's basically just a shell. It's gonna need a complete rework. I know nothing about body work on a fiberglass, but I think I can redo the interior to our satisfaction. It does have some screw/rivet holes and the belly band need lots of attention. Is it something that's doable by a shade tree mechanic?

Well, I know anything is doable, but would a fellow soak more into it than it's worth? It's in ROUGH shape.

Sounds like what I started with to build my unit from.
You could take a look at the 15 page thread in the modifications section

Or look at the condensed version on my website

Although mine has considerable modification it will give you a good idea what may be involved and you can judge it this is a project you want to tackle

Good luck

Yes, easily. I spent over $4,500.00 the first time I rebuilt this trailer. Then I sold it for $1000.00 to friends of mine. Now I bought it back for $500.00 and after 3 years will probably top the first number this time around. "But I'm going to do it right this time."
