Smile First time camping and Water

Your first campsite should be outside your house on your driveway. That way if you forgot anything, it is close at hand!

We decided to not use the on board water tank to eliminate the maintenance associated with it. We carry two gallon jugs of drinking water from home. Then if we need more for the Porta-Potty or to wash dishes, we get some at the campsite. I used the tank when we first got Homelet, but then reconsidered and use the above method now. I placed two gallons of the pink stuff in the tank and then drained what I could. I plan on disconnecting the water pump.
Our grey water tank is a 5 gallon bucket outside the rig.

Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right.

Additional clarification on the water heater operation. ALWAYS hooked to city water and lines bled or water heater tank filled by pump from fresh water tank and lines bled PRIOR to lighting water heater. The water heater tank is insulated. Once the water is hot, the flame will reduce to pilot only so not a huge waste of propane. It would be unusual for us to need hot water more than once morning and nite so we usually turn off immediately BEFORE using the hot water to avoid heating the cold water that rushes in. Depends whether you need a gallon or less to wash and rinse dishes or you need more or less consecutive showers.
