The I can't believe she asked this question of the week

Hi Friends,

After I get Shrimp Scampi out of storage I plan to replace interior incandescent with led. Is there some sort of trick to getting the wedge based bulbs out? No problem with the twist and lock reading lights, but I wasn't sure how to manipulate the others when I tried last summer.

Cheers,
Wendy

As Bob suggest you just need to pull and wiggle..... some can be very tight fitting and need a bit more pull.

Ok thank you both. I remember trying last year and thinking there was some sort of knack to it. I didn't want to risk using too much force so I stopped when they didn't come out easily. Thank you!

They pull straight out. That is if you are lucky!
My Scamp has wooden light fixtures, not sure if they are stock or not.
They got way too hot and the wedge bulbs melted in. Not only that, but the bulbs themselves melted and expanded. One exploded in my fingers when trying to pull it out which resulted in my finger being slit open 1/4 of the way across the tip. Loctite 420 time. For my finger, not the bulb!

I was able to pull the remains out of one of them by grasping the wires in the bulb with pliers. Be careful with those wedge bulbs. They can be mean.

I'm hoping this will not be my experience! I'll be sure to have the juice turned off while doing this! I don't think wood fixtures are stock as I've never seen them in scamps parts store.
